2007 Holberton Team leader of the year recipient
Congratulations to Sgt Richard G. Smith, recipient of 2nd Recon Battalion's Coveted Holberton Award

The Holberton Award is presneted annually to the most distinguished Recon team leader in the 2nd Recon Battalion. The award is named in honor of SSgt Richard Hamilton Holberton who was a distinguished team leader and devoted Marine whose service was cut short in the 1983 Beirut barracks bombing where he perished. Sgt Richard G. Smith is the 2007 award winner and is pictured with his award plaque and NCO sword sponsored by the MCA Awards Program.
