Sergeant Russel H. Greene Jr.

Recipient of the 2006 PFC Herbert A. Littleton Staff Non-Commissioned Officer Trophy for Electronics Maintenance Excellence

Sergeant Greene is from Lake Wales, FL, and graduated from Coventry High School in 2000. During 2006, he served as the Communications-Electronic Maintenance Shop Chief of 2d Light Armored Battalion and Task Force Rutbah, during combat operations in Al-Anbar Province, Iraq. His technical expertise was vital to the battalion’s successful employment of numerous communications systems, Blue force Tracker systems, Electronic Counter-Measure systems, and Anit-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) equipment. He participated in 20 combat patrols to ensure that outlying units received the necessary communications-electronic maintenance support. He volunteered to serve as Task Force Rutbah’s Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection representative, and became the subject matter expert on nearly 40 types of AT/FP equipment. Sgt Greene’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Medal, and the Iraq Campaign Medal.
